About the Chamber - Committees

Economic Development

Vice Chair:  Dean Unsicker, Rosehill Christian School, 281.351.8114

The Economic Development Division plays an aggressive role in conjunction with the Tomball Economic Development Corporation, the Lone Star College– Tomball Center for Training and Development and the Lone Star College System’s Small Business Development Center to provide an environment in which Tomball area businesses can grow and prosper. Business training and development programs are offered through the college, and educational speakers appear regularly at various committee meetings. It is also our objective to attract new businesses that will not only make an economic impact but will complement the area’s hometown family-oriented culture. The Chamber boosts the economic climate by helping members develop their businesses and by serving as a liaison to all levels of government and regulatory agencies.

Membership Development

Vice Chair:  David Scott, Devasco Intl., 281.351.6555

The Membership Development Division is not only dedicated to increasing the Chamber’s current member base but also focuses on initiating programs to help retain that base. To accomplish this, members reach out to the community to invite new businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals seeking greater local involvement to participate. The Membership Development Division coordinates membership promotion and recognizes special achievement among Chamber volunteers and the greater Tomball community.

Community Services

Vice Chair:  Deborah Petty, Woodforest National Bank, 832.375.2710

The Community Services Division plays a crucial role in the Chamber organization and community. Members work in partnership with Lone Star College-Tomball , the Tomball Independent School District, local private and parochial schools, as well as local businesses, to promote and maintain the area’s family-oriented values and goals. Each year the Division’s programs involve and attract more people, underscoring the Chamber’s commitment to our present and future leaders.

Special Events

Vice Chair:  Carol Hadley, Graco Awards, 281.255.9811

The Special Events Division coordinates the Golf Classic, the Tomball Holiday Parade, and the Miss Tomball Pageant—events that bring people together, create a hometown atmosphere, and provide fundraising opportunities for the Chamber. These events have gained a statewide reputation and attract thousands of visitors to our businesses and our community each year. Working in coordination with leaders who organize Tomball traditions, which have helped put the city on the map, this vital division draws on local events and moves in a progressive and responsive direction with its plans.
